Happy Birthday, BBN 4 Jesus Radio!

BBN 4 Jesus Radio roomBy Lisa Kidder

It’s hard to believe that it has been three years already.  And truth be told, it shouldn’t seem that extraordinary to me.  I came in at the tail end of the adventure, but it was still exciting to play a part.

From what Pastor Don and Alana have shared, the radio station had its conception at least six years before the Big Day.  The Lord gave Pastor Don the vision, and he began the real work behind the whole thing.  Rooms were renovated, computer equipment was acquired, artists were recruited, messages and introductions were recorded, and, of course, the website was created.  All that was needed was the final setup to begin streaming, and BBN 4 Jesus Radio would finally be reality.

That’s when I had the privilege and honor of joining the process.  After helping with the website, Pastor Don asked me to assist him in getting the streaming service set up Mark Benson’s work on the broadcast roomso the station could finally begin broadcasting.  We downloaded software, talked on the phone to computer technicians, and entered information into the programs.  The links were put on the website, and everything was turned on.

Now came the exciting phone call to Pastor Tom Goss, who had helped with getting the computer equipment set up.  He would be our very first listener if everything was working correctly.  As Pastor Tom clicked on the link, I heard the music start to play over the phone, and Pastor Don Randallwe all rejoiced at the success.  BBN 4 Jesus Radio was now set to broadcast the Good News to every land, every day.

So that was June 27, 2008.  Since that time there have been many listeners and many visitors to the website.  I am still amazed when I see the statistics and realize how many people from all over the world have been reached in the last three years.  It has been a blessing and a privilege to be a small part of such an effort.  May the Lord continue to bless this radio station and the people to whom it ministers!

June 2011

Praise the Lord!!! On June 27th we will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on our internet radio station. We continue to rejoice for the opportunity of being able to reach people with the Gospel 24 hours a day with our website and the radio station. Since we started our website we have had tens of thousands of hits from all around the world. We urge you to check out both our website and radio station at www.bbn4jesus.org and let us know what you think of our presence on the internet.

Pastor Don Randall with Art and Becky VoganWe recently had a small “fleet” of used bicycles donated to us by Root Int’l, a ministry which has offices in El Paso, TX and Pennsylvania. Art and Becky have been a blessing to us many times over the years. May the Lord bless and prosper them!!! These bikes will be repaired and given to those in need.

The Lord is so very gracious to His children. Last month was such an exciting time as we were able to have the buildings painted, several maintenance projects done and the new tile installed in our main kitchen. After a large amount of the tile was installed, it was discovered that there were two different lots of tile which the Lowe’s staff had selected for us. The end result is that while it is slightly off shade, Lowe’s refunded the entire amount we had paid for the tile. Thank you Lord!!! Thank you Lowe’s for your great customer service!! We continue to work on the property to maintain and improve it. We have worked on the grounds, coolers, worked on repairing and replacing trim on the buildings, etc. All our outreaches continue in place as we constantly strive to reach the lost for Jesus.

One of the most important prayer requests we have regards the lack of storage. We have had to let potential opportunities go for acquiring food and other items for the needy because we lacked storage. We have had to store the bikes outside due to lack of space. Please pray with us for the Lord’s direction.

Oh, the glory of His presence as we gather together to worship Him, whether it be in one of our regularly scheduled services or a spur of the moment time of worship!!! There is nothing to compare to being in His presence. We encourage you to join with us as we worship our Lord. Someone once said, “A church alive is worth the drive”. If you miss His presence we invite you to “come drive” and experience “church alive”.

Since I had some strokes several years ago, I had trouble with the peripheral vision in my left eye, but (this is exciting to me) God has healed it!!! Alana, Linda and Lisa gather around me and pray for me daily. Earlier this month, I had my eyes checked and the problem has vanished!!! Thank you, Jesus!!! We know that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”. Hebrews 13:8

We love you, thank Him for you and pray for you daily.

How blessed we are!!! I’m sitting here in front of the computer, listening to wonderful Christian music streaming from our station, while 3 to 5 miles away precious individuals and families live in a state of hopelessness and constant fear. The drug violence has claimed more than 35,000 lives and displaced an estimated 230,000 people since December 2006. Several people who are acquainted with the situation believe there are that many displaced individuals just in the Juarez area. We are thankful that the Lord has placed us here to be a light of the Gospel to the borderland, as well as a helping hand to those in need. We thank you for your steadfast love, prayers and support for this ministry.

Christian Home crewWe thank Tom Goss and the volunteers from the Christian Home who dug out and repaired a French drain, which has been in disrepair for the past few years. This was one of the dirtiest jobs we have ever had, but these men worked hard and had a great attitude!!! We owe a special thanks to the crew from the Christian Home for a job well done.

The Christian Home also donated a large monitor and commercial grade cart to set it on. This has already been a tremendous blessing in our meetings. Thank you, Lord and Christian Home!!!

Owen Lindbo, a paint contractor from Washington state, has just arrived to give our buildings a new coat of paint. When we painted the facilities 13 years ago we were all amateurs, so we feel especially blessed to have a man with 23 years of painting experience doing the job.In preparation for Owen’s arrival we have been doing prep work to make better use of his time here. In preparation for Owen’s arrival we have been doing prep work to make better use of his time here.
Breakthrough Crew

This past month has been especially busy as various ministries and individuals have stopped by for fellowship, ministry and a time of refreshing in the Lord. This has also been a time of outreach to our neighbors as the Lord has opened the door.

We can’t emphasize enough the way the Lord moves in our services on a constant basis. Linda, who is part of our ministry says, regarding the Tuesday evening services, “Tuesday evenings continue to be a rich treasure as we dig into God’s Word together. We are always challenged to be consistent in our pursuit of the Word and it’s application to our lives”.

“53 slain in 72 hours in Juárez”

As the drug war escalates in Mexico, this was the headline in our local paper following three days of bloodshed across the border. This ongoing war affects thousands of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are in constant contact with pastors and other church leaders who keep us apprised of the situation and relate to us the miracles of the Lord’s hand on His people. Your prayers make a difference, and your eternal family across the border needs your prayers as they live in continual danger.
With thousands of murders and many homes burned the need for outside assistance is becoming more desperate, and we have committed to be a part of meeting both the physical and spiritual needs. We thank you for helping us meet those basic necessities. Please pray with us that the Lord would increase our storage area so we can distribute more food.
People waiting for assistance
This has been a busy month as we have continued with all our ministries (bbn4Jesus.org, BBN 4 JESUS radio, feeding program, intercessory prayer, discipling, Bible studies and services) while working to be more effective by networking with others of like faith. We have collaborated with other ministries here this month to enable us all to expand our fruitfulness on both sides of the border. Of course, when other ministries come to our place, it’s not unusual to for us to end up in praise and worship, prayer and beautiful fellowship.
Sunday and Friday services have been well attended, and there has been a precious anointing of the Holy Spirit as He ministers to His people.
Our website, www.bbn4Jesus.org, and the internet radio keep sending out the gospel every day. It is such a blessing to see people from so many nations being touched through these avenues of communication.
As the violence escalates in Juarez, evidence indicates it is slowly spilling over to the El Paso side with what appears to be more and more drug cartel style activities.
During February, we experienced 3 days of extremely cold weather accompanied by high winds which resulted in rolling blackout by the electric company. Like many others (even though we left 4 faucets running) we ended up with broken water and drain pipes. We are thankful that the Lord sent His servant to make all the repairs. We are so very grateful to Him!!!

Please pray with us concerning repairs and the repainting of our buildings. As you can see from the pictures, we have some repairs to do, along with scraping, sanding, pressure washing, primering and then repainting with the same color paint. As we all know, everything has increased in cost, and we don’t believe we can let this go any longer. Thank you for your prayers and support.

December 2nd, 2010

‘Tis the season, once again, to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus!!! Hallelujah!!!The Lord is so good to us. Just when we think the services here can’t get any better – they not only get better, but they have increased with His presence. We continue to see salvations and demonstrations of healings and deliverances on a regular basis.

We thank you for the wonderful expressions of love for this ministry. Your prayers and support are continually valued and appreciated by us, and we constantly hold you up in prayer.

November has been a month to remember. We started the month with two furnaces, the main oven, and two wall heaters not working. The Lord helped us get the oven and wall heaters working. Thank you, Lord.

November 13th, about 9:30 P.M., I heard what I thought was a bathroom shower going full blast as I walked down the hallway. Unfortunately, it was not the shower, but the pipe had broken inside the water heater enclosure and had been pouring water out for some time. It damaged the bathroom floor, ruined the carpet and padding in the hallway and an adjoining room, plus destroyed some items which were sitting on the floor. BUT the Lord is so good!!!! If this had happened just after we had retired for the night it could have been much, much worse.

It is absolutely wonderful to see our website and radio visited by people from all over the world, including people from countries hostile to the Gospel. Knowing that the Gospel is being received by those living in restricted nations is completely rewarding.
Jesus Bread Company logo

We are indebted to our Lord for laying on the hearts of you, His servants, the care of this ministry. We are constantly aware of the violence going on across the border (almost 9,000 people killed in Mexico this year), and like a vicious disease it is creeping into our own community.
Pastor Don Randall with beans

Because of this immediate necessity, we have expanded our outreach from clothing, bicycles and basic household items to include much needed food. How can we go to bed with full stomachs and our neighbors be starving? Jesus tells us in Luke 10:29 - 37 who our neighbor is.

“But he, desiring to justify himself said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor? Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And in like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion, and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow he took out two shillings, and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, I, when I come back again, will repay thee. Which of these three, thinkest thou, proved neighbor unto him that fell a mong the robbers? And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.”

Bean Crew

People are hungry, and we will be distributing beans and rice to the needy. There are multitudes on both sides of the border who are in dire straits financially. The economy in Juarez was bad before the violence started. The multinational corporations were already doing away with their Mexican work force (at a paltry few dollars a day), closing down their plants in Mexico and moving to China where labor was less expensive. Now with the terrorizing violence the area has become a war zone. In parts of Juarez and some of the neighboring towns, you risk your life just by being on the street. We need your help now more than ever as we expand our outreaches. The Amplified Bible says in Luke 6:38

“Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.”

Beans

We constantly distribute the Bread of life, but it is hard for a hungry person to hear the Word. We are enclosing tracts inside each package of beans and/or rice. That way they not only receive food, but the also receive eternal Food!!!

At this season, as we remember not only God’s Greatest Gift of all, Jesus, but also His daily benefits which He bestows upon each of us, we ask that you help us reach out with us and help us touch those who are hurting, hungry, lonely and forgotten.

If we can be of help, please contact us. We wish you and yours a very blessed Christmas

November 4th, 2010

Greetings and blessings to you in the Name of Jesus!!!

It’s November and as we look forward to Thanksgiving Day here in the US our hearts are filled with thanksgiving for all the  goodness and provisions from the Lord. We can certainly say that He has “sure done good by us”.

Our services continue to increase both spiritually and numerically as the Spirit of the Lord ministers to His people in salvation and deliverance and healing. We actually are running out of room. Over the last few months our team has been doing more ministering  to those in the hospital.

Our radio and web presence continues to spread the “Good News to every land, every day”. It is so exciting to see the nations we touch through the internet ministries!!!

Speaking of the internet, our computers have been giving us problems, and Tom Goss, the Director at the Christian Home, was able to give us some nice, adequate computers for backup. Not only did they donate the computers, but they also gave us shelving to help with our Joseph’s Ministry!!! Thank you, Lord and thank you, Tom. We have been making more room for this outreach as we continue to collect items for distribution to the needy.

Joseph’s Storehouse has sent out the first load!!

It is encouraging to us to have reports from different parts of the country that you are collecting goods for those in need. With the struggling economy here and the drug war right across the border ( about 2,400 people have been murdered this year in Juarez)
we expect more and more people to be in desperate need of necessities. This is a major, critical and long-range outreach. We can’t thank you enough for helping us to reach out to this area over the years. You have constantly been there financially and the items you have sent have been clean and usable. Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!
Street ministry

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.  He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Ps. 126:5 & 6

We appreciate each one of you who has partnered with us in spreading His Word. It enables us to be much more effective in this battle for the souls of mankind. We pray for you daily.  Feel free to contact us if  we can help you.

Breakthrough 4 Life–October 2010

October 21st, 2010

October 2010

Greetings in the Name of Jesus!!!
It’s always a privilege to communicate with you via our newsletter and update you with the happenings at Breakthrough.

First, we want to thank you for being a blessing to the ministry this past month. My friends, Alana and I are constantly in awe because of the way the Lord works through you to further His Kingdom from this ministry center. Your prayers, love, help and support all work together to bless this area and around the world. You have helped feed and clothe people, as well as meet their spiritual needs.

The radio ministry has been “Broadcasting the Good News to Every Land, Every Day” for over 8,000 hours!

I remember being warned by a precious man of God, Richard Ellison, after sharing our plans to start broadcasting the Good News on the internet, of the risks of broadcasting the Gospel, and I knew when Richard was telling me this that he was not exaggerating. Richard, along with his beloved wife, Leona, and his children had traveled to many nations in the world preaching the Gospel. In many situations they found themselves in situations of spiritual warfare, but he indicated that after he started sharing the Good News over the radio, it took spiritual warfare to a new level. We have experienced the same type of results. Since the Lord spoke to us to start BBN4Jesus radio, we have been in almost constant battle on all fronts, but GOD has always intervened on our behalf.  Just this month we have had ongoing troubles with our broadcast computer. We have had software issues, streaming problems, replaced three different pieces of hardware and have another part failing right now. The extreme heat and the dust (West Texas rain) are disastrous to electronic equipment. We recently changed streaming providers and after a few weeks found out that while most people could access BBN4Jesus, others could not because they had a different operating system.  So, that was another “challenge” to deal with. Thank You, Lord, that You are in charge.

The war goes on and most of the Church is oblivious as it rages all around them, but loved ones, neighbors, co-workers and friends are dying and going to hell while we go about our business with no concern. Friends, this is real!!! Heaven and hell are real!!! Souls are in the balance!!!  I often think of the words of Winston Churchill June  4, 1940:

“…we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender…”

If WWII was important, how much more important is the battle for the eternal souls of mankind?

Remember the old plaque from decades ago, “Only one life ‘twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.” The temporal things will not last. The true riches are the things of eternity.  We do not fight against people – but against the forces of evil:

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Folks, We are in it TO WIN IT!!!  I know that I’m kind of preaching to the choir, but we are so very thankful that you are in this battle with us.

We have enclosed information concerning Joseph’s Storehouse and Bikes 4 the Borderland. These are another way to reach people with the love of Jesus. He cares for the poor, the needy and the outcast. These outreaches will only be successful with your help.
Thank you for being our friends and partners. We cherish you and pray for you daily. If you need us, please contact us. We are here for you.

The Lord bless and keep you!!!

Pittsburg Baptist AssociationPittsburg Baptist Association to the rescue!!!

This past week Pastor Ed, Howard, Pastor John, Pastor Mike and Pastor Reed from the Pittsburg Baptist Association in Oklahoma came to our rescue and fixed our roof, repaired the roof on the apartment building and did some painting. We were so honored that these brothers went outside their church walls and blessed us. Joan Wilson and Elfi Register shared our need with them, and they took the project on with enthusiasm, tearing off part of the old roof and installing new 2X4s, roofing material and applying new coating.

BIKES 4 the BORDERLAND
The Lord has laid on our heart a new ministry as a service to our area.  If you have a bicycle to donate or would like to help in this outreach, please contact us. We will have more information next month.

The killings continue in Mexico, as more than 26,000 (last month it was estimated 23,000) people have died since late 2006, when Mexican President Felipe Calderon launched a war on cartels smuggling drugs into the U.S. market. The Lord has His people there in the midst of this conflict. Please pray for this situation.

Our website and BBN4Jesus Radio continue to flourish as we daily proclaim the Good News to the world. It’s very exciting to be in our 3rd year of broadcasting to nations we could not otherwise reach. You help to make this possible.

Sandi Nunes and Lisa KidderWe not only incorporate the newer songs into the services, but we endeavor to keep the best of the older hymns and choruses alive. Our dear friends, Pastor Jim and Sandi Nunes, frequent our place and usually have an old song in their hearts to share. Come and join us for our services – or a visit!!!

We appreciate your partnering with us for His work. Thank you!!! God bless you!!!

Our temporary roof fixBreakthrough 4 Life Ministries — July 2010

Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus!!!

We are blessed to have such precious brothers and sisters who stand with us through the good times and the more challenging times.

The war across the border continues to rage. The El Paso Times reported this week that the war has killed more than 23,000 people since late 2006 in Mexico. In Juarez, just across the Rio Grande from us, more than 1,300 people have been murdered this year as an unrelenting war continues between the Juárez and Sinaloa drug cartels. On June 3o, Tuesday afternoon, gunshots fired from Juárez hit El Paso City Hall. Apparently, as a Mexican federal police officer was being assassinated, several of the 40 bullets from the firearms hit the 9th floor of the building. Please keep this situation in prayer as many of our brothers and sisters live in danger everyday. Occasionally, the war affects El Paso, also.

We had a storm come through this month and ruin our dining room ceiling and carpeting. We had a large tarp over the roof, but it couldn’t keep out the rain that was blowing in horizontally at 60+ mph.

On June 27th we celebrated our 2nd anniversary of bbn4Jesus radio!!! Hallelujah!!! It is so very rewarding to be proclaiming His Word around the world on a daily basis. Your steadfast prayer and financial support make this possible.

I just checked our records for the last half (15 days) of June and found that people from Kenya, Uganda, US, Honduras, Russia, Nigeria, Panama, Pakistan, Brazil, India, Germany, Canada, Italy, Paraguay, Chile, Mexico, Cameroon, Malta, Colombia and UK visited our website. Of course, some countries had numerous visits. What a thrill to reach so many nations with the Gospel - right from our ministry center.

Our Sunday and Spiritual Warfare services are very special times with the Lord as we gather together without man made barriers and focus on Him. We come from different church backgrounds, but we just want more of Jesus. As His Word says – He always shows up (For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20).

Thank you for your prayers, encouragements, physical help and financial help. We thank the Lord daily for you!!!
